Meanwhile in Ridgefield

A local publication and Friday newsletter for a town of 15,000, built and run solo. The least commercial thing I have built, and probably the best proof of what I can do.

Sketch of two people working at desks with ideas floating above them

Meanwhile in Ridgefield is everything I know about search, content and digital structure, pointed at a town of 15,000 people for no reason other than that I live here and it needed doing.

I write the posts, take the photos, build the pages, run the SEO, code the templates and send the newsletter every Friday. Every template, guide page and bit of structure on the site was built here, which means when something works I know exactly why.

It is also a working village. Readers, shop owners and local officials all show up in it, and the newsletter gets opened because it is written like a person talking to neighbors, not a brand talking at customers.

What it shows

  • Local search visibility built from zero
  • A weekly newsletter people actually open
  • Custom templates and site structure, coded by hand
  • A community that grew around the publication

Got a dream or a mess?

Write me a few sentences about it. I only take on a few things at a time, and if I'm not the right person, I'll tell you who is.
